"... one of these days you're going to have to find out where you want to go. And then you've got to start going there."

OK... I'm at www.depaul.edu and I just clicked the link "Graduate Student."

Oh God. I'm going to be a graduate student. In graduate school.

...

Just finished calculating. Looks like I'm going to be following in Bree's footsteps... sorta :) The creative writing program at DePaul sounds pretty great. The way they described the curriculum and the school itself reminded me a lot of the way SJC recruiters described this school to me when I was in high school. That's comforting... if I have to leave here, at least I'll be someplace similar (hopefully I'll be there, anyway).

3-year program... tuition to the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences is about $20,000 for all three years... that's about what it costs to attend SJC for one year. That's also a little comforting... relatively, anyway.

I played around on the website a bit... it looks like a really great place to be. I even picked out my courses. I'm super excited because it looks like I don't have to take any lit courses! I can get away with all writing courses-- even for my electives. That's the number one reason that I like the sound of this place... I love to read, but for some reason I hate literature classes.

Also... this creative writing program doesn't require any GRE scores :) :) :) AND thesis is optional.

I think I love DePaul already.

Grad school. Jesus.

And I'm almost 22 years old.

*sigh*

That last bit better not be saying that 22 is old.

Some people might consider that young, while others know that life really begins at 30 anyway.

I think I love YOU for going to DePaul. And I think you should live here next year with ME. :)

Hey, Becky! This is Danny, your reading coordinator. I was just browsing away messages and buddy info and came across your site here. Exciting, eh? You betcha. Graduate school sounds awesome! I'm not of the creative writing persuasion, but even to me it sounds like a blast. Talk to you later!
