It's a matter of semantics.

ALERT 1 - Flood Warning
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING UNTIL 7:00AM CST

ALERT 2 - Flood Statement
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLOOD STATEMENT UNTIL 3:00AM CST

***********************

pjwshlst (1:07:02 AM): what the hell is the difference between a flood warning and a flood statement??
sandler39 (1:07:17 AM): hahahahaha
pjwshlst (1:07:26 AM): the flood warning i imagine to be something like this:
pjwshlst (1:07:48 AM): "There is a flood warning for Jasper County." which, in itself, is ALREADY a statement concerning a flood.... a flood statement.
sandler39 (1:08:22 AM): a flood warning is like "if you don't watch out, i'ma flood the shit out of your house." a flood statement is like "Flood, why did you wear those crazy earrings?" "Dude, I'm trying to make a statement."

There is *no way* that you have cooler friends than I do.
